The Saxony Hospital Directory provides an overview of the current medical service structure of Saxony hospitals, their individual specialities and the wide range of services and care they provide. In addition to information from hospital quality reports, it includes information about hospital management, clinical directors, detailed bed numbers and transport links. The information can be maintained by the hospitals themselves, which means the directory reflects their current service provision. A specially designed search facility provides user-specific information that is comparable. There are four different search options to choose from, and search results can be refined in several stages by entering additional search criteria until you are left with hospitals that meet your requirements. The hospitals listed can be included in a direct comparison, which makes it easier for you to assess several hospitals at the same time. Further instructions for use can be found under "Search help". For specific medical questions and decisions about which hospital to attend, you must consult your doctor. The Saxony Hospital Directory aims to prepare you for a discussion with your doctor by providing information. It does not replace this discussion.

Regional search: There are 3 regional search options to choose from:

1. Search by counties or cities
A search by county or city displays all hospitals in the selected area.

2. Search for a specific hospital
Searching for a specific hospital provides information on a hospital already known to you by name.

3. List of all Hospitals in the Free State of Saxony
This search lists all hospitals in the Free State of Saxony.

Clinical picture and treatment:
This search allows you to look for hospitals that are suitable for a particular clinical picture or offer a particular treatment. By entering an informal keyword, you can perform a full text search for a clinical picture (e.g. "appendicitis") or treatment method (e.g. "heart operation"). The lists of ICD and OPS codes provide a structured search option.

Search for treatment quality indicators:
This search allows you to look for hospitals that have met certain quality criteria. For each service range (e.g. obstetrics), various quality indicators, which provide information about the quality of a treatment, are shown. You can also search for other quality criteria, such as achievement of minimum volumes or participation in disease management programmes.

Structure and services search:
The structure and services search allows you to look for the following structure and services data:

• specialist departments
• equipment
• treatment specialities
• medical and care services
• non-medical services

Your search results
The Saxony Hospital Directory gives you the option of a quick overview of the hospitals listed (short profile) or detailed information about a particular hospital (individual description). If you would like a clearer overview of the information provided, you can compare two to five hospitals (comparison). There is a structured comparison facility to help you with this.
